Canada’s Hero
The Return Part 11
Valentine’s Day Massacre RP 2 of 2
The last time we saw Dustin his life was in utter disarray. Chaos had ensued quickly after the loss last week. It was a tragedy, an unforeseen conclusion, an eye-opening experience that Dustin had handled unbearably. It was almost as if he was struck in the back with a knife, the life had been stabbed out of him, and it continued to flow throughout the week. The pain of losing hadn’t felt so real in so many years, it was the time away from the game, the time away from the atmosphere, and the time away from what he loved the most that had put this passion back in his life.
But now as he stepped inside the Izod Center, once again in the piss poor neighborhoods of New Jersey he felt the nervousness, the anxiety, the stress that losing brings. It was the kind of stress that could be used in one of two ways. Either it would overtake you or you would use it to get you motivated. His motivation would never be questioned. Over 80 wins in his career, 3 world championships, much more than many ever thought he would do. However, the stress wasn’t as much as a problem when he was 5 years younger. Back then he would shrug it off like it was nothing, but now he played like it was his last. Every match and especially tonight’s against Christian Gold may be his last match.
A win would catapult him straight to the top of Pure Wrestling Revival. A win would add a new knotch to his belt, a new accomplishment to the list, a new sense of pride to his mind, and a soothing feeling to his ego. A win would right all the wrongs that last week brought upon him and Elizabeth. It would right the wrongs for him and for Canadians everywhere. A shot at the World Championship would be granted to the winner in front of a pay-per-view audience. Could you think of any greater Valentine’s Day?
Elizabeth sure could as she sat there, eating her favorite meal, a whopper with fries. Sure, it wasn’t a “ladies” meal but it filled her stomach just before going out in front of this huge crowd and the butterflies would just begin to cease. She was filled with them constantly, even as she wasn’t competing, because of how much it meant to her life. Hero was her life, whether she wanted to admit it or not, she depended on him for almost everything.
Canada’s Hero was pacing the aisles and waiting on his opportunity to go out. It was time to meet the crowd at his press conference. Thousands had packed a room inside of the Izod Center waiting on this conference and to see what he had to say. He stepped up to the podium with Elizabeth again by his side. Through his mind he was still thinking of Naughty Ned and not Christian Gold. He was thinking of the man who had managed to beat him last week, the filthy, nasty, rapist, Ned. Not the tough competition that he had next week. And guess what? The first question hit him right in the heart.
Reporter: So Hero how do you feel coming into this week off your first loss here in PWR?
Canada’s Hero: I came in here and I worked my ass off to get in this position. I faced Ned last week and somehow he was the better man. He came out on top and I did not. It’s as simple as that. Has it pissed me off this week? Hell yeah it has. Do I still think about it? Every minute of every day, but when I step into the ring one thing will be on my mind and that is a shot at the world title?
Reporter: So what are you thoughts on Christian Gold?
Canada’s Hero: He has done a lot for this organization I will admit. I actually have no problem with the man. He has talked a lot about this and that and ran his mouth about the match and him coming out with the title, but we all know that’s just that, talk! He will have to back it up in the ring to have any shot at walking out as the number one contender. I’m going to come out there and lay everything on the line. Even my life.
Reporter: So you are willing to risk everything for this? It means that much?
Canada’s Hero: Of course it does. This isn’t just about me and Gold, this isn’t just about a match, this isn’t just about the PWR World Championshp, hell this isn’t just about PWR in general. This is about redemption, about returning to the ring as a champion, and about how hard work gets you back on top. There is nothing like it in the world and I will be the champion once again. Mark my words today, Christian Gold, Hell, anyone you line up, they will not stop me. That’s all I got to say…. Elizabeth lets go…
Canada’s Hero and Elizabeth both walked off the stage as cameras flashed in the background. He had not even finished the required 10 minute interview and knew that he would be fined thousands for leaving it early just before a pay-per-view, but at that moment he quite frankly did not give a shit. The losing had hurt too much, the talking just kept bringing up old memories he didn’t want to deal with, he was ready to fight right now. This second, this minute, not in a few hours. He wanted someone to step up and give him a fight and he knew deep down Christian Gold would do that. The PWR isn’t a place to make friends but enemies because people always hate the best.
Hatred had always been one thing that he liked. To be hated meant you had to have something that others didn’t have and something that they wanted. Soon enough he would have just that, the PWR World Title, the highest prize in the game, the thing that meant the most, but before that he would go back to his locker room, grab a whopper himself, some fries, a coke, and then whip Christian Gold’s ass for everyone to see.
It would happen…..
It was just a matter of time…
The End.
