Canada’s Hero
The Return Part 5
Roleplay 1 of 2 for PWR Crash #15
A lot can change in two weeks…. That is the time that Dustin Weaver also known as “Canada’s Hero” has been back inside the wrestling arena and the squared ring of PWR. In two weeks he has defeated his first two opponents. The first was a battle that Trevor Stone stuck his nose in and was not a satisfying victory. However, last week against Steve Dave the Hero proved that he belongs near the top. Steve Dave was defeated in a grueling contest that ended with Hero going up to the top rope and dropping the splashdown on Dave and ending in a painful, bloody victory. Two weeks, two wins, that’s all that went through Canada’s Hero’s mind as he left the ring. However, his job was not finished. He had more business to take care of and that was Trevor Stone.
Little Trevor Stone, the man that stepped in the way of Canada’s Hero and his first clean victory. The man who decided his little petty rivalry with Scorpio Cage was worth risking his career interfering in the match with the legend. Canada’s Hero wasted no time attacking Stone backstage last week and with a special request was granted a match against Stone on this week’s episode of Crash. Trevor Stone has been in this federation longer than Weaver but that means very little. The time spent in wrestling, the experience, the sweat, the blood, the championship titles, all the necessities to be a top fighter point to Weaver, but Hero knows better than anyone when you step inside that ring everything changes. You fight like your life is on the line or you lose, you fight like its your last or you lose, you fight to kill or…. You lose.
The scene shifts to a town home in the center of the busy Canadian city of Toronto. This is the first we have seen of the spot that Hero calls his “home”… the spot where he grew up… where he has lived out his childish dreams of becoming a superstar… where he lays his head at night. The town home is a two story brick building that seems to “normal” to be home to such a big name, but he wouldn’t have it any other way. Inside is his own personal fitness gym and entertainment/game room for the friends and family.
The young woman that we saw last week is again shown as the scene shifts to the bathroom where she is doing her hair and getting ready. She has a lacy tank top on and tight workout shorts that are pressed to her body. From behind her comes Weaver as he wraps his arms around the woman and begins to kiss her back. They embrace laughing and smiling as only happy couples could do. The dream of being back in the business has become a reality to them both. The stress it has caused being out for so man years, the damage to their families, and to their lives as a whole has been too much to bear, but now that is over….
Elizabeth: Yea things are better this time…. I gotta admit I have missed being out there. I still want to see you in person. I am ready for that you know…
Canada’s Hero: I know… I know. It’s time you join me. I took care of Stone last week and I will face him in the ring man to man this week. If you want to be there I guess I can let you go…
Elizabeth: I’m coming! …. And Stone is going to pay for what he did to you. He doesn’t know me… he doesn’t know what I can do…
Canada’s Hero: Woah… woah… woah slow down there. I know it’s been hard on you being away this long but Stone has done nothing to harm me. Sure he interfered in my debut but did you see him laying there last week? He will not bother me nor you. I have a fair one-on-one match with him this week to take care of him once and for all.
Elizabeth: Yea I know but he ruined your comeback… he tarnished the first match.
Canada’s Hero: That he did and he will pay you know that as well as anybody, but I cant have what happened to you last time coming up again. I can’t envision that night anymore in my mind.
Elizabeth: It couldn’t possibly….
Suddenly both Elizabeth and Weaver’s minds go back to that night over five years ago when Canada’s Hero was defending his DWF World Heavyweight Championship for the third time. He was at the prime of his career, the top of the pinnacle, he had everything a wrestler could possibly dream of. The fame, the girl, the title. However, that night things went terribly wrong. Hero was knocked out in the center of the ring by the right hand of the number one contender. Hero was bleeding perfusely and Elizabeth couldn’t take it anymore. She walked through the ropes to check on Hero but was immediately tossed outside the ring onto her head by his opponent.
He continued to fight but when he saw Elizabeth outside knocked unconscious he turned to help her. Immediately he was struck from behind, pinned, his title taken away, and his pride tarnished. He went to help Elizabeth who was later transferred to the hospital. She had suffered a concussion… she stayed in the hospital for 3 days under close surveillance by the staff and nurses. He vowed that this would never happen again. Elizabeth had wrestled for years alongside of Hero in various roles and nothing this dangerous had ever come of it. He realized for the first time he could lose her. He quit wrestling, she quit wrestling, they moved back to Toronto to recover and try to get over the moment.
The truth is it still haunts him to this day….
Canada’s Hero: That will not happen again. I can’t let that happen again. It’s been over 5 years Elizabeth. You can’t let your emotions get the best of you.
Elizabeth: You know I want. I’m just here to support you. Whatever it takes.
Canada’s Hero: I know.. I know… it will all be alright.
And with a reassuring hug Canada’s Hero walked out of the bathroom. It was reassuring to Elizabeth who smiled as he left, but to Canada’s Hero the dazed look in his eyes said it all. He still knew there was nothing he could do to completely protect her. It was wrestling and anything could happen. Dangerous things happen when you put yourself in dangerous places. But she was a woman, she wanted to be out there, and she deserved to be. He just didn’t know if he could take it if something similar happened again…
To Be Continued….
