The scene opens at the official Pure Wrestling Revival press conference to announce the signing of the billion dollar emperor, Silvio Megala. Although Neal Steal announced the signing last Wednesday on CRASH Tv this is Megala’s first public appearance representing PWR.
Lights and flashbulbs go off in unison as all eyes turn to the main stage. A podium has been set up with the PWR and Megala Enterprise logos side by side symbolising the public working agreement between the 2 companies. With Megala being the ultimate self publicist it makes sense that Megala Enterprises would be hired to take care of the vast mjority of PWR marketing. Already due to this influence many PWR ads have been focused on Megala instead of people like his opponent this week Eddie Stitchard. Looking immaculate in suit and tie Megala takes his place behind the podium flashing his customary insincere grin.
“Thank you ladies and gentlemen for your attendance in what is undoubtedly the greatest day in PWR’s history!”
A ludicrous statement considering the company is only a few weeks old. This is however the mainstream media for the most part and probably wouldn’t be giving a startup wrestling company a second glance if not for Megala’s involvement. No doubt Megala would prefer to portray the situation as himself putting PWR on the map instead of the combined efforts of a select group of elite wrestlers.
“Before we proceed to the question and answer session many of you will be aware of a most unfortunate situation which has been heavily publicised in the news recently. A very expensive vessel…well actually it’s one of the cheaper in the Megala fleet…this one is only valued at 50 million! Firstly it was not the private 500 million dollar superyacht commissioned for personal usage. That was something you got wrong in your reports…as if the likes of yours truly would go anywhere near Somalia! Waters which are a known domain for the activities of illegal pirating! This vessel was normally used for the purpose of delivering and receiving material supplies in relation to company trading transactions.”
Megala always makes sure to mention the reportedly exaggerated value of his assets at every public meeting. The super yacht infact is reported by other sources to be valued at 250 million not the 500 million Megala claims. It seems strange that a man who is already worth billions needs to exaggerate his self worth.
"The saddest thing is that the vessel was on this occasion being deployed in the name of goodwill! Indeed the ship contained a charitable donation of relief assets intended to help the poor and needy who inhabit Somalia! Indeed we have great relations with another struggling African nation in Ethiopia. Megala Enterprises have been instrumental in employing a vast workforce there and we wish to engage in a similar manner within Somalian communities. It is a shame however that corruptness and greed has led these pirates to steal from their fellow countrymen. It is possible that someone has put them up to this and that individual will be dealt with most severely in due course!”

The individual Megala is targeting is presumably Josh Mercer since Neal Steal made an accusation regarding this issue towards Mercer this past week on CRASH Tv. As for the Ethiopian “workforce” there is a high likelihood that Megala Enterprises is predominant within slave labour circles. PWR wrestler The Ace would no doubt be the first to tell everyone how Megala treats slaves! The US media however have avoided this subject since Megala was found innocent of federal charges (the star prosecution witness mysteriously no showing the trial caused the charges to basically become void and be thrown out of court) including gangster activity, slave labour and drug trafficking. Indeed due to the negative publicity Megala Enterprises lost valuable US based assets and has only just re entered the US trading market in the past year since the Bush Administration ended. Having been found “innocent“ Megala has threatened to sue for defamation anyone who even brings up the fact he was once indicted.
“It is unfortunate that the Italian government have not taken a greater interest in dealing with this matter. As the crown jewel of the Italian fashion industry Megala Enterprise would have appreciated support to a far more considerable extent. Unfortunately some nonsense related to international waters whatever that means are supposedly preventing the seizure and recapture of the ship. We know the location so the Italian government should have sent the navy in days ago! Theft is theft and the fact we have not regained what is rightfully ours is simply a travesty of justice!”
Megala points to a man in the front row who has been waiting patiently with everyone else for the chance to question Megala.
“Have the pirates attempted to negotiate a ransom fee?”
“The great Silvio Megala will not be held to ransom by a criminal organisation!”
Another member of the press speaks up...
“Well what about your workers who are being held hostage on the ship? Surely you care about their welfare?”
Megala instantly puts on his best "sad" expression and sympathy voice.
“Of course the welfare of our workers is of prime concern and we offer our deepest sympathies to the families missing their loved ones. They will probably be released soon though once both sides have negotiated the handover arrangements. In the long term though the status of the ship and assets themselves are much more unclear and we are also acting in the best interests of our stockholders.”
For someone who cares so much about his workers it seems strange that Megala was more interested in mentioning the value of the ship than the hostages! Indeed he looked annoyed that the hostage situation was even mentioned! It's possible to identify with Megala to some extent by his refusal to be held to ransom as nobody would enjoy that. Governments in the past have refused to be held to ransom after terrorist captures. However it couldn't be any clearer that Megala couldn't care less about his workers! Megala quickly changes the subject proving this is more of a public address than the Q and A advertised…
“Anyway let’s talk about the PWR! This week the MWA legend will make his in ring debut against a gentleman by the name of Edward Stitchard.”
Silvio always insists on referring to Eddie as Edward which just further emphasises his snobbish attitude towards everything.
“Being the mainstream media you probably have no idea who Edward Stitchard is! Or anyone else in PWR for that matter other than the 6 time winner of the Milan Fashion Awards!”
Silvio laughs.
“Edward Stitchard is a man who has never defeated the MWA legend! Obviously that's nothing to be ashamed of since he's hardly alone in that regard!”
MWA standing for Milan Wrestling Association is an organisation apparently based in Italy. Megala claims to have had a 400-0 winning record there prior to joining the NIWF. Strangely there is no clear evidence of this other than Megala’s word which means very little when it comes to honesty!
“Indeed he has lost to the CEO of Megala Enterprises not once, not twice…but a total of 3 times! The latest victory was just under 2 years ago within an organisation the figurehead of class and wealth was affiliated with prior to joining PWR! He submitted in that match and was screaming like a baby as he tapped out!”
Actually Megala won that match by pinfall with the referee failing to notice that Megala had illegally hooked Stitchard’s tights to gain a pinning advantage.
"Mr Stitchard as you probably haven’t heard…”
Megala laughs again. It seems clear that Megala is enjoying basically defaming a man who like most wrestlers isn’t covered by the mainstream media. There’s no way they will check old NIWF tapes to see whether Stitchard really submitted to Megala. That is one advantage Megala has with his fame extending far beyond wrestling that he can basically belittle his lesser known opponents in the public eye. Stitchard who unlike Megala lives and breathes the wrestling industry has virtually no means to defend himself to the mainstream press.
“Within wrestling Mr Stitchard is known as an individual who makes complaining an art form! Every single time he was defeated he claimed it was due to cheating! Once he even accused the Italian genius of sabotaging his title reign in a company named the Immortal Wrestling Guild! Let the true facts be made crystal clear! Stitchard lost to the better man on each of those 3 occasions! He is a very jealous and insecure individual who instead of acting like a man chooses to whine and cry like a little girl! It is believed that his personality is based on a lack of attention he received from his parents and family! He isn‘t thankful for the opportunities he has been given within wrestling! He should feel privileged to even step into the same ring as someone of the billion dollar emperor‘s stature!”
The mainstream media are taking notes with this match likely to receive heavy coverage due to it being Megala’s debut. Obviously they have such little respect for wrestling they won’t even care to check and see just how much Stitchard is being slandered here!

The wrestling fans watching this must be on the verge at smashing their Tv screens in fury at Megala’s ridiculous lies!
“It’s even sadder that he claims to have a pure lifestyle! He claims he’s straight edge and never drinks or smokes! That…and make sure you print this so he sees it…is nothing less than a lie! Stitchard is known to have abused steroids in the past! His conduct backstage would make the most corrupt politicians proud! There‘s no telling how many wrestlers he has held down! Make sure you print every single word of this so you can all see what type of man Eddie Stitchard is!”
Megala is actually laughing out loud at his own statements but the mainstream journalists seem oblivious to it! Even if they can guess Megala is being dishonest all they care about are their quotes and byline. However respected Stitchard is by his wrestling peers Megala is one of the few wrestlers to ever be highly sought after for quotes by the mainstream press hounds. Stitchard must be incensed with rage knowing that there’s no way he could afford to take Silvio to court for what is nothing less than a defamation of his character!”
