Canada’s Hero
The Return Part 7
PWR Crash #16 Roleplay 1 of 2
Newark, New Jersey was a filthy place. Trash lined the street corners as it bounced around from place to place wherever the wind blew. The next phase of the Hero’s comeback was complete. He had taken care of Trevor Stone with the help of Elizabeth. He no longer had to worry about whether she was safe or whether she would get hurt. She could fend for herself and she proved it last night against Stone when she destroyed him just like Hero did himself. The match was his third in the last three weeks, his third victory, his third celebration, and his third night of mayhem. He was taking the league by storm, slowly causing all in his pass to cease and be beaten. Elizabeth was now along for the ride and it made this victory sweeter than all the rest. This one had been earned by the both of them. They got to enjoy what happens when you step on their toes together, it was a sick kind of love.
A love that grew deeper and madder the more and more they won, but winning was not enough anymore. Now it was the sadistic beating, the ripping apart of human flesh, the demolition of their opponents that drew them closer. Canada’s Hero had been drawn back into the mix of the wrestling business one fight at a time, and as his fourth fight drew nearer it created even more of a stir. Before the two left New Jersey they were handed the card for next week’s event. Canada’s Hero had offered that the two compete in a tag team match because Elizabeth was eager for some competition. However, due to the fact that there are currently no women in the league he set up a triple threat.
Canada’s Hero: Looks like next week might just be a little more interesting.
Elizabeth: How could that be? 3 weeks, 3 wins, what’s next for us?
Canada’s Hero: Well I have been scheduled on Crash this Saturday to compete in a triple threat match. This is the first time I will have more than one opponent in the ring at the same time.
Elizabeth: What? Against who?
Canada’s Hero: Well let me look…. (he glances down at the paper to check) it says here that I will face The Chosen One and Steve Dave.
Elizabeth: Hahahah….. Steve Dave. Didn’t you beat his ass a few weeks ago?
Canada’s Hero: You are damn right. So we can go ahead and mark that one off the list. I have to admit I’ve seen The Chosen One walking around a few times, but I don’t know anything about him, hell I really don’t care to know anything.
Elizabeth: Baby there’s nothing to worry about. Even if they team up together they couldn’t take you out.
Canada’s Hero: I hope they do try to team up and take me out of this match because it just won’t happen. I’m tired of all the fun and games. I am not here to win in this triple threat, I am here to destroy! Now let’s get out of this dump of a city.
With that Elizabeth and Dustin throw their bags into the cab that has pulled up outside of the arena and jump in. The cab is taking them to the airport where they will fly back to Toronto for a few days before heading to Pure Wrestling Revival’s next stop on tour at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City. One by one, the wrestlers of the PWR are beginning to respect Canada’s Hero, whether they like him or not, it is the respect that he craves and that he has began to deserve. Elizabeth and Dustin cuddle up on the plane headed back to Toronto as they again are able to train another week with nothing on their minds other than how they will take care of business in New York City.
On the plane….
The lights dim and the engine fires up as the flight has been prepared and cleared for takeoff. Flight 923 has left from Newark, New Jersey and is headed back home to Toronto, Ontario, Canada. There are many passengers onboard. Anything from newly married couples with children headed for a vacation to an elderly widow headed for a funeral. However, the two people sitting near the front in first-class are none other than Mr. “Canada’s Hero” Dustin Weaver and his lovely girlfriend Elizabeth.
Don’t let the tickets fool you, they need the money that they have been getting from PWR paychecks and this return is bigger for them than you think. The tickets were a gift from the owner and are the first time in over 5 years (since they were last in wrestling full-time) that Canada’s Hero has been given this opportunity to fly first-class. As we look closer at the couple who are reclined in their chairs and with their eyes closed the cameras zoom in on the eyes of Elizabeth as we wonder what she may be dreaming of.
Elizabeth’s dream surely wasn’t that different than anyone else in her shoes. Inside her head were thoughts of the league that her man competed in, thoughts of returning to glory and finally being able to buy those expensive dresses that had caught her eye in the past few months. She wasn’t really worried about her man and whether he would win or not or even get injured. She knew what he was capable of and that in a matter of time all of the hard work and the many hours spent studying and working hard would finally come to fruition. She was thinking about her own struggles that awaited her just after this wrestling career. Was she physically prepared to enter the Women’s Division and wrestle at some point?
She always knew that if she wasn’t ready to contend for a title then she would not put herself through the trouble of being there. She dreamed of not living up to the high expectations that being Canada’s Hero’s girlfriend carries with it. If she didn’t do well it made him look bad and made their “team” struggle. She had repeatedly had nightmares of being knocked unconscious in the ring again or being pinned repeatedly by each member of the women’s division in her matches. Those were just that, nightmares, and in real life the odds were this wouldn’t be the case, but just what if? Sometimes the stress, the nerves, and the worries can get the best of you.
Suddenly Elizabeth awoke from all these dreams and rustled around in her seat. She seemed uneasy and looked around back and forth to see if anyone was watching her.
It was quiet on the plane other than the television which was flashing with scenes from the movie “Avatar” which had debuted only a few weeks ago. The rest of the plane seemed dark and lonely. She looked over at Canada’s Hero…. He was her security blanket, a sense of peace draped over her body like a warm blanket. She didn’t have to go at this alone, that was the best feeling a girl could have. She quickly slipped her arm in between his and his chest and laid her head on his shoulder. There was no better pillow in the world.
Inside the head of Dustin Weaver floated a number of sensational thoughts. He had dreamed of the moment to propose to Elizabeth. The couple had been together for years without getting married. He knew that the time had come for this question to come up. He had thought about it a number of times but wanted the timing to be perfect. Did she know that he had already bought a ring?... of course not. The dream that was float through his head was one of winning… the PWR World Heavyweight Championship of course and then proposing in the center of the ring to the love of his life. Would the old saying passed down from generations about how dreams are sometimes a prediction of reality hold true? I mean yes this could just be a pipe dream, but was it that far away from reality? The dream was so real he could taste it on his lips.
Just then he felt the slight touch of a young woman’s arm up against his skin. It felt warm, silky smooth, something that he could never get enough of. He turned his head slightly to the right and opened his eyes briefly. Staring at him and laying softly on his shoulder was Elizabeth. She seemed to be watching, waiting on his eyes to meet hers. It was hard to describe in words but it was a perfect moment, one that could seemingly only be written in a movie, one that may have been an affirmation of his previous dreams.
Elizabeth: Hey baby!!
Dustin: *still groggy from sleep* Yea….
Elizabeth: I’ve just been thinking a lot about…. You know.
Dustin: Elizabeth… we have had this talk a million times. You know I love you, you know I want to be with you. When the time is right it will happen.
Elizabeth: I hope that time is soon! I can’t wait Dustin! I just can’t!
Dustin: I know….. just be patient with me. This return has been stealing a lot of my attention and I don’t want you to think that you are anywhere other than with me. Things will settle down soon. Let’s just get these opening matches out of the way and get back to the swing of things.
Elizabeth: I want you to win. I want you to be successful. I just want that security.
Dustin: You have it….. Right here.
With that Dustin reaches for Elizabeth and kisses her on the cheek. It was the kind of kiss that whispered to her “I am not going anywhere”. The kind that just again may have bought Canada’s Hero some more time. It wasn’t that he didn’t love her it was just he couldn’t imagine having to worry about a wife and possibly children at this point in his life. Let’s be serious, how many wrestlers in the industry made a successful comeback with a baby on their mind? He couldn’t think of any. Deep down in his mind he had actually watched a few of the PWRs finest compete and he felt he was at their level. The world champion Hell, it was evident that this was going to be one of the toughest fights of his life. One of the toughest spots that he had competed at during his career.
Coming up even before he could ever ask for a title shot was the fight of his life. Steve Dave and The Chosen One would both be in the ring at the same time against Canada’s Hero. He would have to make sure that they somehow didn’t pin each other, and that they damn sure weren’t able to pin him. He knew that there was more skill involved in this than any other match. His goal was to somehow get one of the men unconscious or outside of the ring so he could solely focus on one wrestler. However, the odds of doing that were astronomical. Especially if the two decided to work together in bringing down the up and coming star.
He had also decided something else in his head. He would take a seat for Hell’s PWR Championship Gauntlet match. Why not? Let’s see the top of Pure Wrestling Revival at its finest. He would get an close up look at Hell, the man who continued week in and week out to defend his world championship with ease and see if he really was that damn good. He would for the first time set his sights on the gold, the top prize, the dream. Yes, that is what he would do at Crash 16…..
