Canadas Hero
The Return Part 6
Roleplay 2 of 2 for PWR Crash #15
The last time we saw Dustin Weaver he was pondering his girl Elizabeth coming back down to the ring. He didn’t show us any weakness or fear, but deep down we could see this was eating at him from within. The thought of losing her again seemed to awaken a part of Weaver that the PWR faithful have never seen before. An anger, but also a sadness that came from within and stays hidden from the public eye. Almost losing her in that horrible in-ring concussion over 5 years ago had been long forgotten until it was now time for Elizabeth to accompany him back to the ring. He was able to push that out of his head during the break from wrestling, he was able to not even have the thought cross his mind during the training and the fight towards his comeback, but now that he knew this was real and that she was coming with him next week to Newark, New Jersey mixed emotions fled through his mind. Was he hurting her by giving her the opportunity to come back? Could he protect her if someone tried to attack her again? What if this time they weren’t so lucky? The what ifs were driving him crazy. He had no where to turn, no one to talk to. He couldn’t tell Elizabeth he felt this way. She was way too excited to be with him in the ring, he had already promised her this chance.
As he sat there laying on the bench press, sweating, pumping the weights as he does every morning around this time a thought crossed his mind. He knew exactly who he could talk to about this matter. A man who had been with him from the very beginning. One that he had virtually forgotten in the past few weeks due to the busy schedule of the PWR and the constant interviews, and preparation he has put in to make the comeback successful. He left his townhouse immediately and jumped in the white Lexus parked out front. All that was left for the cameras to see was the car cruising out of the gated lot where the gates opened and then closed directly behind him.
An hour later…
At a familiar bar in downtown Toronto we see Canada’s Hero come strolling in the door. His agent and former trainer is the bartender and seems to be just the man he was looking for during this rough time. The bartender immediately notices him and motions for him to take his break. He steps out from behind the bar and the two share a nice handshake, smile, and embrace. The sweat is pouring from Mike the bartender as Canada’s Hero lets him use the towel over his shoulder to wipe off. The two walk back behind the bar into a room with the label “Employees Only” hanging ruggedly by one nail over the completely rusted door. The door squeaks as it opens and both men walk in with it shutting almost silently behind them.
Mike: Long time no see my man. How are things?
Canadas Hero: Things are good man… things are good. Just got a lot on my mind lately that’s all.
Mike: I have followed you your first two weeks. You look good out there. Haven’t lost a step.
Canadas Hero: I don’t know. Last week was rough. Steve Dave pushed me to the edge, but I can’t allow myself to lose. It just seems like I have to wrestle a different style now. The experience is nice huh?
Mike: Oh yea. Having experience against these young bucks. That can help you big time. You are still in the prime of your career.
Canadas Hero: I’d like to think so. I got a lot of years left. That Trevor Stone kid has really pissed me off though… Eh?
Mike: Yea I know what you mean. When I saw him interfere in your first match I knew there was going to be trouble. Just don’t beat him too bad.
Canadas Hero: I want to. You know I want to.
Mike: So what’d you come here for? There’s got to be something more than that Trevor Stone kid bothering you. You can handle your matches by yourself I know that for a fact.
Canadas Hero: You know me too well. Inside the ring causes me no problems right now. I know things will get tougher as each week takes its toll on me but I’m ready for that. If I wasn’t I wouldn’t be back in the ring again. It’s just you know…. Elizabeth.
Mike: Ohhhh girl problems I see. Don’t let her mess with your head man.
Canadas Hero: No, no, no, it’s not like that. We are doing great. Better than we’ve ever been I think honestly. It’s just that I told her she can come back to the ring with me starting next week.
Mike: You did what?
Canadas Hero: I know. I remember what happened back then. I don’t want to talk about that now. I started having flashbacks about it and they won’t stop. The fear that something might happen to her is creeping back in my head. I can’t let that happen. You know that right? I can’t!! I won’t!!!
Mike: Well should she really be out there Dustin? Is this where she should be after all that has happened?
Canadas Hero: It’s where she belongs. She’s trained just as hard as I have. She’s wrestled, she’s fought, it’s just the surprise attacks. The way that man in DWF hit her from behind and sent her head flying recklessly to the ground. It’s just that part that scares me. Hell, I don’t know I’m just going to have to go beat Trevor Stone’s ass and forget about it.
Mike: That’s what you need to do. Get down to business. The rest will take care of itself.
Canadas Hero: That’s what I needed to here. I’m ready to do this! They don’t even know what’s coming. The fans barely know my name and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The return has been spot on so far. Two down…. Many more to go.
Mike: Don’t let you guard down. Everyone will be gunning for you soon enough.
Canadas Hero: And that’s what excites me.
Canadas Hero gives a sadistic look towards Mike he smiles and shakes his head….
Canadas Hero: The blood of those who want to come and get in the ring with me as it spills out onto the canvas. That excites me. The way it feels as they lay motionless just like Trevor Stone did backstage last week. That excites me. The way Stone will feel this week in Newark, New Jersey as he lies there unable to move after I destroy him and teach him a lesson. That excites me……
And with that the two part ways with a handshake and a brief hug. The camera catches Canadas Hero walking back towards Mike just before he is ready to leave the bar and he hands him a plain white envelope. Mike looks at it but before he is able to give a reaction Canadas Hero is already out the door. The cameras focus in on Mike who takes a look inside the envelope and sees one piece of paper inside. He takes it out and realizes that it is heavier than paper… it’s a ticket. On the ticket it reads “Newark, New Jersey PWR Crash #15”. A front row seat to this week’s match. Mike smiles and slides the ticket back in his pocket. Outside Canadas Hero is walking down the street to his Lexus parked in the parking garage across the corner. His phone suddenly vibrates and he slides it out of his baggy sweatpants. The phone lights up as “1 new message” appears. The sender’s name “Mike”… the message “I’ll be there…. Hahahahaha” and with that the cameras fade and Canadas Hero continues to walk on… unfazed by the day’s events.
